Decorating With Rustic Bar Stools

March 3rd, 2008

If you have a western or lodge style home, then you want to be sure to pick some rustic bar stools to decorate it with. We generally use bar stool for seating but it can be a great part of our decor!

Bar stools can make a fun addition to your home furnishing collection. One is able to purchase them in many designs, colors, and materials. Three important criteria to consider when purchasing bar stools are room design, theme and the color of the stools. If you have a rustic decor, look for stools made of wood and natural fibers or wrought iron with camping-themed cutout backs.

There is a practical side to buying rustic bar stools to add to your decor. You’ll want to select the stools that are a correct height for your counter or table. Measure the height of the stools before buying them to make sure they will fit your table or counter. Stool selection is important because they come in many different sizes, so make a note of where it is going to be placed and that will assist in identifying the stool with the best height. The bottom of the counter or table should be 10 to 13 inches above the stool seat.

Be sure to budget for enough barstools for the area as well. A spacing of about 25 to 30 inches from the middle of one seat to the next is optimum for bar stools. Take the total length of your counter, divide by twenty-eight, that should give you a reasonable estimate of the total chairs you are looking for.

Have a great day!
